Meet the Makers

Who we are

At The Cotswold Art Studio, every piece has a story.

Our collection brings together a community of talented ceramicists, painters, textile artists, jewellers, and makers whose work celebrates craftsmanship, creativity, and thoughtful design. Each piece is created with care, skill, and attention to detail, carrying with it the story of the person who made it.

We believe that knowing the maker adds meaning to the objects we bring into our homes and lives. Behind every brushstroke, stitch, glaze, and sketch is an individual with their own process, inspiration, and story to tell.

We invite you to explore the makers behind our collection and discover the people, places, and practices that make each piece special.

Jane Cassidy

Founder of the Cotswold ARt Studio & Painter

Working from her studio in the Cotswolds, Jane Cassidy creates contemporary oil paintings inspired by the sea, nature, and the landscapes that have shaped her travels. Through expressive brushwork and a rich use of colour, her work explores themes of freedom, light, and the quiet beauty of the natural world.

Jane is also the founder of The Cotswold Art Studio, a space born from a desire to champion local artists, makers, and traditional craftsmanship. Bringing together a carefully curated collection of artwork and handmade objects, the studio reflects her belief in the value of creativity, community, and the enduring appeal of things made with skill and care.

Tamsin Levene

Ceramicist

With nearly 40 years immersed in clay, Tamsin’s ceramic journey began with an Art Foundation in York in 1989, followed by a BSc (Hons) in Ceramic Art. She quickly became captivated by the endless possibilities of clay as a creative medium.

Working primarily on wheel-thrown pottery, she also explores hand-building, slip casting using a variety of clays and firing techniques. For Tamsin, ceramics is both a way of discovering form and a meditative creative process.

More recently, she has become fascinated by low-firing techniques, particularly naked raku and saggar firing. Their unpredictable nature and endless variations create unique surfaces and finishes, inspiring an ongoing journey of experimentation and discovery.

Her work is rooted in simplicity, balance and elegance, allowing the character of each surface to shine. She has recently designed a collection of tableware and homeware for the Cotswold Art Studio, bringing together refined forms & the spontaneity of fire.

Through her work, Tamsin continues to explore the relationship between clay, fire, material and process, always searching for new possibilities and unexpected beauty.

Áine Adams

Stationery Designer

Áine creates thoughtfully designed paper goods inspired by a love of typography, printed ephemera, and the unique pleasure of handwritten correspondence. Her collection includes greeting cards, invitations, and custom stationery designed to mark both everyday moments and special occasions.

Drawn to timeless design and carefully considered details, she creates pieces that feel elegant, understated, and a little unexpected. In an increasingly digital world, her work celebrates the simple act of putting pen to paper and the connections that can be made through it.

Jonquil Sabin

Woodworker

Jonquil Sabin creates distinctive wooden boards from locally sourced timber, including wood from her family farm in North Oxfordshire. Working from the old mill workshop at Temple Mill, she uses many of the tools that belonged to previous generations of the family.

Each board is individually shaped to celebrate the natural character of the wood, resulting in pieces that are both practical and full of personality — from the smallest kitchen boards to generous statement pieces.

Elly Dunford Wood

Jeweller

Her jewellery is for people who love nature, appreciate handmade craftsmanship, and want to wear something a little bit different.
